Happy 2nd Birthday Zindiya!
It's our 2nd birthday!!
So we thought what better time than now to start our blog... something we've wanted to do for a while now.
We’ll be sharing our journey so far, showcasing our events - past and present, we’ll take you behind the scenes at Zindiya – giving you some recipe ideas from our kitchen and putting our team members under the spotlight, as well as making sure our lovely readers are the first to know our updates and promotions.
This past year, just like the first, has been exciting, innovative and fun!
Here are some of our highlights:
While the nation celebrated Prince Harry & Meghan's wedding we invited quirky Canadian artist Babbu The Painter to Zindiya for a pop up shop and Q&A hosted by BBC presenter, radio producer and social media specialist - Amrit Matharu aka @amarettosworld
We had such a great time with Babbu and our guests definitely appreciated the positive and creative vibes.
In the Summer, we took our last trip to India as inspiration for our new menu additions. After trying Delhi’s most colourful chaat – we created our own take of Raj Kachori and a delightful cocktail “Pink City” was designed to transport us to the sweet shops of Jaipur.
Soya Tikka also made an entry to our menu and has now become a firm favourite for vegans and non-vegans alike.
We had lots of fun recording a Samosa Challenge with On the Tools TV.
Tradesman Shaun attempted to eat 5kg of samosas! After 3 he began to struggle...
Local arts organisation Sampad hosted their first ever Chai & Chat at Zindiya in October. Writer Abda Khan hosted the literary event alongside director of Sampad Piali Ray, bringing together an amazing group of women who shared their thoughts, ideas and read some of their own work.
Mentioning chai, we also think we coined the term #Chaianuary – so next January we’ll definitely be claiming that one again!
As we celebrate our birthday today we'd like to thank all of our wonderful customers for your support and we hope you to continue to join us as we give you an insight in to the world of Zindiya.
